Frequently asked questions

When is the best time to visit Morocco?
Spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) suit most itineraries. Winter is ideal for the desert and the south, and summer for the Atlantic coast, which stays cooler than the interior.
Do I need a visa for Morocco?
Citizens of many countries, including France, can visit Morocco without a visa for up to 90 days with a valid passport. Rules depend on your nationality and can change, so check your government's travel advice or a Moroccan consulate before you go.
What documents do I need to travel to Morocco?
Bring a passport that is valid for your entire stay and keep a copy of your documents. Your airline or consulate can tell you about any additional requirements.
Is Morocco safe to visit?
Advice changes over time. Before you go, read the Morocco page of your government's travel advice service and take out suitable travel insurance.
How many days do you need in Morocco?
One week lets you explore one or two regions, such as Marrakech and Essaouira. Allow ten to fourteen days to combine the imperial cities, the Atlas Mountains and the desert.
